The Light at the End of the Tunnel

So...great news from Iraq - my resignation from the Army got approved last night, so my terminal leave will start in December!!

Even though this is a HUGE relief to me (it was pretty much a given, but nice to know it's official) I still feel a little eggshell-walky. I heard a rumor that if you were a Distinguished Military Grad (which I was) you HAVE to go into the Reserves. That would be no good. Also, there is always the chance I will get called back up, based on the fact thatI have to be in the Individual Ready Reserves for 3 1/2 years until my full obligation is up. I plan on not answering the phone until 2010. Hey, they can't call me up if I don't answer, right?? Anyone want to move to Canada with me?

Also, it's a little weird to know that, for the most part, I'll be a civilian in 6 months, especially since I'll be living with a military guy. I've had a prefix rank on my name for 8 years (first it was CADET, then LIEUTENANT, then CAPTAIN.) How weird will it be to me "MISS HANGER" again? Sounds like I'm a substitute teacher.

I'll move to Canadia with you, MISS Hanger. I could probably rouse a whole group to join in and we could start a commune. Think of the possibilities!
