Everyone Should Know!

So, I'm joining the rest of modern society and I'm learning to drive a stick shift. Not because I'm progressive or because I want to, but becaus Jon is tired of driving me to theater rehearsal three times a week and having nothing to do there....and who can blame him? I don't like to rely on him, either. With only one car in our little family, and it being a stik, I've got no choice but to learn.

So, I had my first lesson this past weekend, and did fairly well. Jon took me to the Air Force Base that he works on and I drove around a big empty parking lot. I will say that my starts aren't the smoothest, but I only stalled it out 2 or 3 times! After driving in circles and getting it up to third gear, Jon had me drive to the grocery store on base.

My biggest issue is not that I can't put it into gear, i's that I don't know what the right gears are or when I'm supposed to put it in that gear. Not sure when I'll feel ready to drive to rehearsal - the lessons continue tomorrow!
