America’s Oldest Community Theater – sounds impressive, no? Well, I’m now a member of this elite group of performers out of Jamaica Plain, MA. Our show, All in the Timing, by David Ives, is over after three great weekends, countless bananas, two adjudications, and only one completely forgotten line by yours truly. It truly was the best theater experience I've ever had - an amazing new group of friends, a part (TWO parts!) with a name, the chance to be a completely silly character - so much fun!
Ending a show is like breaking up with a boyfriend. Part of you is glad to not make the hour long T ride three or more times a week, put on a bubblegum pink costume, drag all your crap to work and then to theater and then home. The other part is sad that something you enjoyed is coming to an end, worried that you won’t see your fellow actors again, and exhausted even thinking of the idea of auditioning for another show and starting the whole process again. But, that's the life...and Sweet Charity auditions are coming up in August!
