My family (mother, father, and aunt) came for an 8-day visit recently to help out and give lots of love to Avery. It was a complete Godsend having them here. I took naps, didn't have to worry about breastpumping and giving Avery a bottle and letting the dog out at the same time (of course I'm doing that now that they are gone) and it was great for Avery to get so much love!
I'm getting ready to choreograph another musical. It's Clue: The Musical, which has very little choreo in it, but should be fun. I'm surprised more people don't do this show.
Finally, Avery is one month old! His likes so far include being held, his activity mat, and my voice. His dislikes are being naked, baths, and diaper changes. In this month, his penis healed up from the circumcision, his umbilical cord fell off, he started focusing his eyes more on things, he's gained lots of weight, is eating more and more, and refocuses himself when he hears my voice. He's sleeping about 4 hours at a time during the night, which works pretty well with the shift schedule that Jon and I worked out for ourselves. He's sat through several rounds of Christmas photography and being dressed like and elf and like Santa. His whole body has changed so much since we brought him home. His face is rounder, his body longer, and he actually looks like a little boy now!
