Well, there is just one week left before Jon heads off for a six-month deployment. It's tough for me, not only because I'm losing my roommate/best friend/husband for six months to an area of the world that isn't super safe, but also because I'm usually the one traipsing off to danger zones and I don't know much about being left behind.
Unlike the last deployment, our relationship is more serious and settled, we are both busier, and we kinda know what separation from each other is like (miserable, but at least we know!) We are spending this week enjoying our time together and with our friends. We've had dinner/brunches with people, we're having a very romantic dinner together on Thursday, and I'm ditching school on Friday to hang out around Boston with him.
Whether it hasn't hit me yet, or I'm just used to the idea by now, I'm not sure, but I'm determined that we will be the best temporarily separated couple the world has seen!!!

Nice pic. Almost like it's from the movie "Congo," with the image of that mountain in the distance. But then again, I guess Costa Rica didn't have any killer apes, right?
That's no mountain, that be a VOLCANO!
