Light It Up

So, our 90s house came with a pretty sweet (sarcasm) foyer light.  Let's take a look.

What's that?  You want to see it closer?  Sure thing.

Eek

So, I want to get a really cool light that looks good in the house, provides us with great light, and makes a statement.  I'm looking for something bronzey and warm because we are doing a warm-color theme in the house to make it look big and light.  So, I went surfing around, and here's what I've found so far.

Globe Bronze Pendant from HomeDecorators.com priced at $99
Globe Pendant from West Elm also priced at $99
Capiz Shell Floral Pendant Light priced (too high!) at $399 from Target
Meyda Tiffany 21841 Transitional Down Lighting Pendant from Lightingdirect.com for $259.20
Vertigo Large Pendant Light from Eurostylelighting.com priced at....gulp....$2445.91
Nut Suspension Pendant from LZF priced at $422.40.
So, lots of neat ideas floating around the interwebs and lots of variance in prices!  I'm hoping to just stumble upon something great at a thrift store/garage sale for $20 that I can immediately hang up or put a few bucks and some work into to make it awesome.  It's always more fun when you help create something yourself, don't you think?  The search continues, but I'm pretty inspired by what I've seen so far!

I'm pretty sure my parents' house has that exact same light (built in '94). I love the simple globe one. I'm sure you'll find something awesome.

I'm kinda in love with that first one I listed so far, but I feel like maybe I should attempt to revamp the current one? I don't know.
