A Taster of the Better Life

Jon and I travel a lot, and we can afford to do so because we find the cheapest ways to get from point A to point B, even if it's a flight that is early in the morning or late at night. I've actually never flown first class, really, but have managed to make do happily in coach, knowing that I saved a few hundred bucks.

So, I write this now from BUSINESS class of the Downeaster, which is the train that runs from Boston to Maine. The ticket isn't expensive (around $25) and I got a military discount, so I opted to pay the extra $8 and sit in business class, as they promised an outlet where I could plug my computer in and do whatever. I did not expect some of the little perks that I find myself enjoying. First, the "server" introduces himself to the business class folks and tells us to let him know if we need anything. Then, we all get one free non-alcoholic beverage. The seats have TONS of leg room and they recline back pretty darn far. Not to mention the free wi-fi, which I'm sure is in the regular section as well, but somewhere feels faster and better sitting in the good seats.

I don't know....a girl could get used to this!
