I know, I know

I haven't blogged in a while. Well, frankly, I don't want to depress anyone. I'm so bored. There are a few house projects to do, but I'm here, carless, all day long. I'm getting wicked huge, and I'm uncomfortable, so I don't like to walk anywhere.

I did have a great Labor Day week, with ELEVEN people in and out of the house at some point. Thanks to everyone who came out. We had great food, watched some Sox at Fenway (both Red and White), took a Duck Tour, went to Salem, saw a movie, and survived the horror that was Hurricane Earl.

Willy Wonka rehearsals are starting soon, so that'll be 5 days a week of my life. So relieved because I am BORED BORED BORED.

Frantic Update

Even though my last entry was on the 16th, and I've definitely had longer periods of unblogginess before, I feel like I should be doing more writing. So, quickly, here's what's going on with me, and I promise to find something more substantial to write about in the near future.

1 - I had my one and only interview that I plan on doing for a job - the interview with the US Air Force JAG Corps. While I don't feel as confident post-interview as I did pre-interview, I can only hope that that JAG Corps looks highly on ambitious, bronze star awarded for Army captains with high grades.

2 - No leads yet on the robbery, and yes, we had insurance

3 - Today I went to Pittsfield, MA with a classmate to see where Herman Melville lived for a while, which leads me to a rant. I am doing a project on the book "Billy Budd" and they have the desk that he wrote the book on as well as the box where the manuscript was found after his death. The kicker? You can't take a picture of it. Now, eventually, we talked the lady into printing out a picture of the desk (but not the right box) so we can show our class, but seriously? It's like those "Keep off the grass" signs in parks. IT'S THE EARTH. WE ARE SUPPOSED TO WALK ON IT. Now you can't take pictures of things in museums (I knew before this you couldn't sometimes, but there's nowhere else to get a picture of this stuff online). Ridiculous.

4 - My dad is cancer-free! After his surgery for prostate cancer earlier in the spring, his PSA levels are now super duper and he is doing great!

5 - I got a new computer to replace the stolen one. I call him Rupert, Jr.

6 - Rehearsals for Hello, Dolly! are going really well, especially thanks to my fellow Hoosier and stage boyfriend, Noah, who provides me with endless laughs during the many many many many times that we are offstage.

7 - The VA came through with my money for the post-9/11 GI Bill, so for one, the Army followed through on something fairly quickly. I was surprised, for sure.

Ok, that's the news. Hopefully I've have more substance next time!

Update on all things overdue

So, I'm a little behind in blogging, but here's a quick rundown of things:

1 - Spent most of May in Indiana helping my mom and dad out with some stuff. I got my bridesmaid's dress for my little sister's wedding while I was there, got to hang out with Justin, Michelle, Cindy, and Matt, and had an all around good time.

2 - Jon just got back from a week long trip in Colorado with the boys where they did all things manly.

3 - Started my job at Suffolk Superior Courthouse, where I am interning for a judge. It's completely fascinating and reinstates my interest in the law, which was severely waning after second year of law school.

4 - I'm in the process of applying for the US Air Force JAG Corps.

5 - Still no word on where we are going on vacation in August!!

6 - Went to my mother-in-law's 1940s themed 60th birthday party and had a great time!! Dressed up in a swing dress and Jon wore his grandfather's old uniform.

7 - My folks are coming to Boston next week to spend the 4th of July holiday with us, so that should be pretty awesome, cause Independence started here, people!!

8 - I played poker last night and did very very well, which is a change from my usual performance of losing all my chips on the blinds.

9 - I finally finished our guest room, and even though it went through a mega-purple phase where it looked more like a brothel, now it's super lovely.

10 - I got cast in a musical with an actual NAMED role (I'll be playing Ermengarde in Hello Dolly!) which is very exciting.

And that's pretty much the top ten at the moment!
