Apologies and Auditions!

Yikes Yikes Yikes, much apologies to the 1 or 2 people that read this for the lack of updates. It truly has been a crazy month since finals last semester, but I promise to (try) to do better!!

So, I've gone to two auditions in the last two weeks in hopes of getting cast in a show somewhere. First, I auditioned for Annie Get Your Gun with my group in Reading. The only part I was really interested in was the role of Annie, which I knew was a long shot, but for the first time, I sang well enough to read for the lead role. I didn't get the part, probably because my singing and reading OVERALL wasn't the strongest, but the opportunity to read for the role was really great.

Next, I auditioned for one part in Over The River And Through The Woods at a new group. Only a handful of people came out to audition over two days, and there was at least one other girl reading for my part. I felt I read a little stronger than her, but you never know. We also had to perform monologues which I hadn't done before, but thanks to my friend Michelle, I had a HYSTERICAL one to do which literally left them laughing. Unfortunately, no one came out for the lead role, so the casting has been delayed, and I haven't heard anything yet.

If nothing comes of it, there are plenty of other auditions, and if I don't spend my semester in a show, at least I'll spend my time perfoming 16-bar audition songs and monologues!!
